This week we will apply the area models for rectangles and triangles to compound shapes such as arrows, pentagons, hexagons, and octagons. In sixth grade, students are only responsible for learning the formula for rectangles and triangles although formulas for parallelograms and trapezoids have been taught. Students should be able to break down and shape into a figure they are more familiar with.
Homework this week is to finish Castle Learning Learning - Area & Integers (assigned last week), IXL - F2- F8, and finish Harbin24 (started last Friday).
